The Basin

The Basin
This is a calm day view of Southport’s beautiful yacht basin. All types of boats can be found here, from pleasure sailboats to cruising yachts to work boats. It is also home to several popular restaurants and fish houses. For this painting I used a more subtle palette and technique reminiscent of the Barbican School in France at the turn of the 19th century.
